On the way to the first stop in my Quebec trip, Lac St. Francois National Wildlife Area, the scenery of the rocks and river along Hwy 73 attracted me and the urge to see it again grew stronger as the fall approaching.
It is called North Fork Bouquet River,and meets the South Fork Bouquet River near the junction of Hwy 73 and Hwy 9 and runs north through town of Bouquet and empties into Lake Champlain.
The Bouquet River is the steepest river in New York: it dropped ~3000ft in 45 miles. No wonder the scenery is so attractive, the waterfalls so alluring. My first impression compared it with the Tairuko Gorge, in HuaLian, Taiwan. Here is web page described better with gorgeous pictures of Bouque River:
