Fall in Beltzville, Lehigh Gorge, Hickory Run and Tobyhanna
State Parks of Pennsylvania
When trees in central New Jersey Change color, it is time to look for foliage colors in further north. This year the route is west to the neighbouring
Pennsylvania. The boulder field covering 16 acres in the Hickory Run State Park is a National Natural Landmark is another reason of this exploration.
LeHigh Gorge and Tobyhanna State Parks are well known foliage spots.

Beltzville State Park has a big lake, foliage will be great with water reflecting the colors. It is southern most and was reached first.
Beyond the dumpster on the beach, there are fossils to be picked. I found a trilobite and shells of different kind. The lake water was low in the fall, so
fossil hunting is ideal. The colors are not quite ready yet.
LeHigh Gorge State Park has multiple access points of the park. The following photos were taken from Rockport Access and Tannery Bridge area.

These 16 acres of boulders are pretty old. It has been eroded through the glacier and their shapes are irregular. The boulders rolled down from
the 922 earth quake in the XiTou, the experimental forest of National Taiwan University was larger and generally rounded.
In the middle of this rock, there is
embedded a piece of heterogeneous rock.
